Welcome to my music blog, Two Bars of Stardust: the songs that are the hum and howl of my heart.
As a music lover, my ears are always turned on and tuned in to the sounds around me, scanning the world for the next beat or vocal wail that pulls at the heartstrings and beckons my attention. And this is where I'll be sharing these discoveries along with longtime favorites, anticipated releases and other such sonic creations that make my heart sing.
One of my favorite artists is Florence and the Machine, who will be rleasing their third album, How Big How Blue How Beautiful, on June 2nd (in the US and June 1st in the UK -- my jealousy has already kicked in).
In anticipation and excitement of its release, I'm kicking off this blog with a 5-day segment featuring my favorite Florence and the Machine songs/performances.
So welcome! Have a look around, delight yourself with some tunes and if you'd like to stay in the loop, head on down to the bottom of this page to subscribe for updates!
As for the name Two Bars of Stardust, it's a lyric from the The Drifters' song "Fools Fall in Love," which goes like this:
Well, fools fall in love in a hurry
Fools give their hearts much too soon
Just play them two bars of Stardust
Just hang out one silly moon
It was also the inspiration for this sign which I recently came across on the good 'ol Instagram. I love the imagery this line creates with music being this magical dust we revel in. It suits my soul, and so we begin.
xxChris
