Courtney Barnett, Kurt Vile and the Sea Lice
Yesterday, news came through my social media feeds that Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile have created an album together (release date TBA) and will be hitting North American roads with their band, the Sea Lice, come autumn.
When I read this, my insides rang "whhhhhhhat?!" in excited surprise while my mouth pursed and eyed widened, similar to Courtney's face in the image above, though each expression more pronounced.
So in lieu of this wonderful news, I wanted to share a couple of songs from these artists' solo work:
Here's "How to Boil an Egg," Barnett's latest single, released last month.
And Kurt Vile's ever-so-catchy "Pretty Pimpin" off his 2015 album, b'lieve i'm goin' down....
Oh, and by the way, the Sea Lice will be comprised of Janet Weiss (Sleater-Kinney, Wild Flag), Rob Laakso (The Violators, The Swirlies, Mice Parade), Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint), and Katie Harkin (Sky Larkin, touring member of Sleater-Kinney and Wild Beasts).
Yeah, this is gonna be good.
