This Week in Retrospect: Sayonara, August

It's been quite a week.

I rang in a friend's birthday, hung out in a fort, rang out said friend's birthday, saw my bodega man at the gym (it was a jarring moment), lost my contact and then found it in the grass (I mean this in its most literal terms, though I feel there's a beckoning metaphor), went to three shows (Adult Mom, Stephanie Manns, Zenizen), received a present (it's not my birthday), enjoyed a rooftop birthday dinner (again, not mine. Also not the before-mentioned friend), welcomed a new mate back home to the city, said bye to a babe moving cross country and then moved myself across town.

So, it's been quite the week. Actually, it's been quite the month. One good hell of a month.

And now it's September. The winds have changed, the temperature has dropped and perspectives have shifted. With that, here's a collection of songs that have held a significant place in this past week:

Sayonara, August. You've been a good one.

September, I'm leaning in.
